O' Wretched Man That I Am!
Isaiah 40:6-8

The Spirit says "Write!"
and I, like Isaiah, say
"What shall I write?"

"All flesh is grass
And all the glory
like the flower that fades"

My heart cries "Help!"
And the Spirit says "How can I help?
When all flesh is grass
And all it's glory like the flower that fades"

And I say
"O' wretched man that I am
who can deliver me?

Seeing I am grass that dies,
and all my glory
fades like the flower"

And the Spirit says
"Thank God through Jesus Christ
our LORD

Who places such treasure
In earthen vessels
that the glory may be his"

And the Spirit says
"Cry, all flesh is grass
and it's glory fades like the flower!"

And I want to cry,
but not with words
that can be uttered.

And the Spirit say
"Cry! All flesh is grass
and fades like the flower"

And I want to cry
but my eyes are dry
and my throat is still

And the Spirit says "Cry!
For all that is in
the world

the lust of the flesh
the lust of the eyes
the pride of life

shall pass away
But he that doeth the will of God
will abide forever"

And I want to cry
"Holy, Holy, Holy,
is the LORD of hosts"

And I want to cry
with tears
that run down like a river

And I want to cry
"All flesh is grass
and all it's glory fades like the flower"

And I want to die
like withered grass
and faded flowers

And I want to die
and be born again
incorruptible

And I want to cry
"Salvation belongs to our God
who sits upon the throne

And unto the Lamb
forvever
and ever"

And I want to cry
"Wretched man that I am
you can deliver me"
