Thank you for keeping us in your prayers everyone. As you probably know, Thursday afternoon about 4:00 my wife was involved in a serious car accident in Camp Hill, Alabama where she works. We ended up in the emergency room of Lake Martin Hospital in Dadeville, AL. We were told that she was OK except for bruising and some lacerations but they held us overnight to be safe and on Friday morning a CAT scan showed a fracture in her neck.

We were transferred to UAB in Birmingham, arriving there about 4:00 on Friday, and were stayed through 10:30 this morning (Sunday). The prognosis is good. She has what is called "a hangman's fracture" so named because it is the type of injury associated with hangings. It is treatable without surgery so Debbie will wear a neck and body brace for the next 10 weeks to keep her neck immobilized so it can heal.

I will be using vacation time to stay with her through this next week and she should be able to return to work, as long as she wears the brace, in a week or two. It was a scary time I admit, but thank you for all the prayers. We were thanking Jesus for keeping his hand on her and knew all along that she would be OK but the ride to Birmingham was difficult. It was about the only time we were separated and, as positive as all the news was, it's hard following an ambulance for 2 hours knowing your wife is in there with a broken neck.
